Fit is everything
When it comes to pipette tips, fit is important. For example, a poor fitting tip might extend too far onto Ovation’s nozzle. Another might not extend far enough. Either situation diminishes the performance of the pipette’s tip ejection system. That’s ergonomically unacceptable.
And if the tip isn’t sealed on the pipette, it could leak during operation and contaminate your work. Absolutely unacceptable.
When a nozzle is inserted into a tip, the seal area should be the entire side wall of the tip – from the bottom of the nozzle to the top lip of the tip. Every tip manufactured by VistaLab Technologies fits the Ovation pipette in this manner.
Ovation pipettes are designed to make the pipette “click” when tips are properly seated - letting users know that the pipette is ready for work. Using an inferior quality or
“one-size-fits all” tip can (and probably will) have a negative effect on ease of use and performance.
One size does not fit all.
On any pipette when a tip seals at a different place on the nozzle, the total amount of air in the tip is altered. This can cause the pipette’s performance to differ from its stated
specifications. And universal tips have another problem - they’re designed to fit may different pipettes, but never designed to fit any one pipette perfectly. To compensate,
user’s tend to jam them on with excessive force, which makes them difficult to remove. Our tips do not require excessive force to acquire or discard - just a gentle push.
